THOMAS SHERLOCK was born about 1670 and married MARGERY about 1690. They were probably married in St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey, but many marriages were not recorded between 1689 - 1694 because of the Great Plague.

The children of THOMAS SHERLOCK and MARGERY are:

  1. JANE SHERLOCK, bapt. May 17, 1691 at St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey.

  2. HENRY SHERLOCK, bapt. January 03, 1693 at St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey.

  3. WILLIAM SHERLOCK, bapt. January 03, 1694 at St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey, but died soon after and was buried on the 9th January, 1694 at St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey.

  4. ALICE SHERLOCK was baptised on the 5thMay, 1695, St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey. She married JOHN BENNETT on the 12th October, 1723 at St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey. Alice died in West Kirby in 1769.

  5. JOSEPH SHERLOCK was baptised on the 14thNovember, 1696 in St. Hilary Parish Church, Wallasey.

RICHARD SHERLOCK was born about 1742 in Upton in Overchurch.

The children of RICHARD SHERLOCK are:

Generation 2

JOSEPH SHERLOCK (RICHARD1) was baptised on the 30th January, 1776 in St. Bridget Parish Church, West Kirby, Wirral. He married MARGARET JONES, daughter of PETER JONES and ELIZABETH HUGHES on the 13th August, 1800 at St. Peter Parish Church, Church Street, Liverpool. Joseph was a fisherman and they lived in Great Meols, Wirral.

Joseph died in Hoose and was buried on the 14th March, 1858 in St. Bridget Parish Church, West Kirby. Margaret, who was still living in Hoose at her death was buried with her husband on the 25 th Novenber, 1860.

  • MARTHA SHERLOCK, b. 1841, Hoose, Wirral; d. 1883.

    • MARGARET SHERLOCK (JOSEPH2, RICHARD1) was born in Great Meols and was baptised on the 2nd February, 1817 in St. Bridget Parish Church, West Kirby. Margaret married WILLIAM WILSON JONES, son of JOHN JONES on the 4th April, 1837 in St. Bridget Parish Church, West Kirby, Wirral.

    MARTHA SHERLOCK (WILLIAM3, JOSEPH2, RICHARD1) was born in 1841 in Hoose, Wirral. She married JAMES JOHNSTON,in 1863, in Liverpool. Martha died in 1883 aged 42 years.

    The children of MARTHA SHERLOCK and JAMES JOHNSTON are:
