Generation 1

JOSEPH SUTTON (JOHN2, JOHN1) was born in Moreton and was baptised on the 10 th November, 1811 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. He married EMMA CLARKE, daughter of THOMAS CLARKE, on the 4th November, 1855 in Our Lady and St. Nicholas Parish Church, Liverpool. Emma was a widow, EMMA POTTER, with children, when she married Joseph. By 1851, Joseph had his own 16 acre Fender Farm, Moreton, which he built up to an eighty acre farm.

Joseph died on the 26th April, 1875 in Reeds Farm, Moreton and was buried on the 29th April, 1875 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. Joseph made a will. After Joseph's death, Emma farmed Fender Farm herself.

Emma died on the 10th May, 1881 aged 64 years and was buried on the 13th May, 1881 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. Like Joseph she made a will.

JOSEPH SUTTON (JOSEPH3, JOHN2, JOHN1) was born about 1856. He married JANE and farmed Fender Lane Farm, Bidston. Joseph died on the 6th December, 1881 in Reeds Farm, Moreton, and was buried on the 10th December, 1881, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston.

JOHN JAMES SUTTON (JOSEPH3, JOHN2, JOHN1) was born on the 17th April, 1857 in Wallasey and was baptised on the 15th June, 1857, St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. He married ELIZABETH ROYDEN, daughter of GEORGE ROYDEN, on the 31st October, 1878 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. They farmed Reeds Farm, Moreton.

John James died on the 15th December, 1890 in Reeds Farm, Moreton, and was buried on the 17th December, 1890, in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. Elizabeth died on the 25th September, 1938 and was buried with her husband.

ELIZABETH MARY SUTTON (JOSEPH3, JOHN2, JOHN1) was born in Bidston and was baptised on the 3rdJuly, 1859 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. She married WILLIAM SUTTON, her cousin and son of WILLIAM SUTTON and JANE HARDMAN, on the 20th May, 1879 in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston. John James Sutton, Elizabeth's brother and Maria Sutton, William's sister were the witnesses at their marriage. William was a farmer and they began married life in Liscard.

William died on the 27thFebruary 27, 1915 and was buried in the family grave in St. Oswald Parish Church, Bidston and Elizabeth died 14th August, 1918 and was buried with her husband.
